This rare bottling sold out rapidly when released in 2008 and this single cask being laid to rest 2 days (coincidently?) before HRH Prince Charles famous visit to the distillery on Islay.
This visit was meant to be only a brief visit of around twenty minutes but HRH overshot the runway in windy conditions. This gave the then distillery manager Iain Henderson an extra couple of hours with HRH signing various casks for charity etc. whilst the new plane arrived. Apparently the royal was anxious to get home to view the "confession interview" broadcast that evening on the BBC with David Dimbleby.
