Product Description

The word ‘legendary’ gets bandied around a lot, but it simply can’t be overstated in the case of this absolute sherry monster.

Laid to rest at the Bowmore distillery on the 5th November 1964 and bottled as the Final Edition from a trilogy of Black Bowmore’s released in the 1990s.

Matured in stunning Oloroso sherry casks for 31 years, the slow maturation in these casks has rewarded the spirit with a colour so dark and rich it ultimately earned itself the affectionate title of Black Bowmore.

Filled at 49% ABV, this is one of just 1812 individually numbered bottles released in 1995 that scored a massive 91 points on WhiskyFun and comes with fine wooden presentation case and signed COA insert.

Both the first and second editions were releases of 2000 bottles, but it turned our the angels had been overly greedy when it came to bottling the Final Edition and hence why the yield was almost 200 bottles lower than hoped for.

Although touted as the Final Edition at the time, there have actually been two further releases of Black Bowmore since this bottling; the 1964 42 year old bottled in 2007 and the 1964 50 year old bottled in 2016.
