Wm Cadenhead Focus

Wm Cadenhead was established in 1842 and is Scotland's oldest independent bottler, currently owned by J&A Mitchell (proprietors of Springbank), who bought the company in 1972. Their owner, Hedley Wright, sadly passed in 2023 and the company was left in the hands of three trust funds. Here we take a look at some of their highly sought after series and limited edition bottlings.

The DUMPY BOTTLING series from Wm Cadenhead, adorned with black label and white font, was a signature of the independent bottlers' releases during the 1970's and 1980's. The series was eventually discontinued, to the despair of its army of fans, in 1991.

Hugely collectible and desirable, there have been some magnificent releases over the years, many of which you will find on our site, such as; Bunnahabhain 1965 16yo, Linkwood 1956 21yo, Macallan 1962 20yo, Springbank 22yo and Teaninich 1957 22yo

The CADENHEAD'S CASK STRENGTH series features some stunning malts all bottled around the early-mid 1990's.

Instantly recognisable by their distinctive white labels, there were some astounding releases in this series, such as; Ardbeg 1975 Cask 1382, Clynelish 1972 Cask 5643, Glenugie 1980 Cask 3657, Springbank 1965 Cask 2164 and Talisker 1979 Cask 4 to name but a few ...and at some eye-popping strengths to boot!
