Product Details
This epic 40 year old single malt was distilled in Bourbon casks at Bruichladdich on the 24th October 1964 and bottled on the 23rd November 2004, making this the oldest vintage produced by the coastal Islay distillery.Extremely rare, this is one of just 550 bottles that scored an eye-popping 92 points with the WhiskyFun experts and comes with original tube and signed COA from the distillery manager, Jim McEwan, who worked as an apprentice cooper at the distillery when this whisky was laid down in the cellars.
It has even made an appearance on the silver screen in recent times, when it was featured with Harrison Ford in the 2010 movie 'Morning Glory'. Ford apparently has a penchant for the 'Laddie and asked for 'The Forty' to be displayed during a scene in which he describes how the malt has the ability to help bring him back from the brink. Inspirational stuff!
