This outstanding 29 year old Speyside single malt was laid down at the Glenfiddich distillery in 1956 and bottled for Intertrade in 1985.
Matured in sherry wood and filled at a natural cask strength 50.6% ABV, this is one of just 384 hand numbered bottles that scored an outrageous 94 points with the WhiskyFun folks.
Intertrade were an Italian importer that was founded in 1984 by Nadi Fiori, the company would trade under this name until 1989. Intertrade selected stock from Gordon & MacPhail, after a close friendship was struck with late G&M President George Urquhart, which were then bottled and shipped to Italy to be sold and distributed.
The whiskies Intertrade selected from G&M have always had a reputation of being of an exceptional quality, with many rare non-chill-filtered and cask strength style whiskies produced by distilleries during the 1950s and 1960s.
