This phenomenal 45 year old Speyside single malt was laid down at the Glenglassaugh distillery in 1966 and bottled for the Rare Cask Series in 2011.
One of just 202 bottles filled at a natural cask strength 49.2% ABV, this special release was a hit with the critics at WhiskyFun who put it straight on their legends list with a score of 92 points!
Supplied in a gorgeous crystal decanter and packaged in a satin-lined wooden presentation box with two crystal cut glasses, stopper and certificate of authenticity.
Like many distilleries in the unforgiving 1980s, Glenglassaugh stopped production and closed its doors in 1986. However, it was fortunately spared from the ‘forgotten distillery’ graveyard when it rose from the ashes in 2008 under new ownership.
