This exceptionally rare 22 year old Speyside single malt was laid down on the 31st May 1974 at the Glenlivet distillery and bottled as The Ashworth OBE (Opulent Blenders' Eclecticism, in this instance) on the 2nd September 1996.

Bottled to observe the retirement of John B. Ashworth OBE (awarded for services to the Scotch whisky industry), whom in 1974 was appointed Managing Director of the Chivas Regal and Glenlivet Whisky Group, based in Paisley.
