This incredibly rare 21 year old Highland Park single malt was distilled in 1977 and bottled in 1998 to commemorate the 200th anniversary of this famous Orkney Islands distillery.
Upon initial release in 1998 the Bicentenary's sold out in double quick time, some bottles were set aside for tastings and samples however. These bottles became the forgotten batch and it wasn't until 2008 that their existence came to light again. It was decided that these 690 bottles would be repackaged for the Japanese market in a stunning oak presentation case with Japanese symbolism.
The whisky itself is still well revered, including on Whiskyfun where it scored a large 89 points.
