This highly regarded entry from the Rare Malt Selection series was laid to rest at the Hillside-Glenesk distillery in 1971 and bottled 25 years later in September 1997 at a natural cask strength 62% ABV.
Glen Esk distillery was founded in 1897 and has remained dormant since 1985. The distillery stands in the hamlet of Hillside, which stands 3km from Montrose where Danish Vikings violently, and repeatedly, attacked until the first Millennium.
The distillery has changed its name many times over the years (more than any other distillery) including to that of Hillside.
Note, there is some age-related discolouration to the capsule - see image for reference. Presentation carton is not supplied.
