Product Details

This young Lowland single malt was distilled at the Lochlea distillery and bottled as the first edition of the Second Crop, following on their annual series of limited seasonal bottlings in 2023.

The Sowing Edition represents Spring and when the sowing of the seeds begins for that years barley.

Lochlea was once home to the Bard of Ayrshire himself, Robert Burns, who lived and worked at the farm from 1777 to 1784. The family-run farm grows and harvests their own barley and has an on-site water source, making this a unique and exceptionally green operation.

This Sowing Edition Second Crop release was matured in fresh First Fill Bourbon barrels and is one of 11,000 bottles filled at 46% ABV.
