Product Details

The mega rare 25 year old Campbeltown single malt was produced at the Springbank distillery and bottled in the early 1990’s in the classic dumpy bottling with parchment label.

This bottle has the signature of J. Archibald Mitchell on the bottle, a highly sought after expression that was likely distilled in the early to mid-1960’s. Supplied in good condition with original presentation carton - note, small pieces of the wax emblem on the bottle neck have come away over time - see image for detail.

The Springbank distillery was established in 1828 on the site of Archibald Mitchell’s prohibited still by members of the Reid family, in-laws of the Mitchells. In 1837, brothers John and William Mitchell purchased the distillery. In 1897, J&A Mitchell Co. was founded. The company’s most recent owner and Chairman, Hedley Wright, sadly passed away earlier this year aged 92. He was the great, great grandson of Archibald Mitchell - the 5th generation of the Mitchell family to own and manage Springbank.
