A truly brilliant and ultra rare example of vintage single malt that was laid down at the Tamdhu distillery in 1950 and bottled by Highland Distilleries in 1973.
Highland Distilleries had owned the Tamdhu distillery since the very late 19th Century, they were to later purchase Highland Park, Matthew Gloag & Son (producers of The Famous Grouse blend) and The Macallan - before joining forces with The Edrington Group in 1999.
This simply magnificent 23 year old Speysider was bottled at 83 proof and 26 2/3 Fl. Ozs, whilst it also received a humongous 94 points from the WhiskyFun critics.
The fill level is low neck, the label is showing degrees of foxing and there is a tear at the bottom. But, this malt is all about the delicious, historic contents - the likes of which will potentially never be seen again!
